Customer Partners with Niantic Seal for Westinghouse Company Project
Niantic Seal, Inc. is committed to building long term relationships through maximizing our value-added services. We provide solutions to help to reduce your total cost of procurement as well as increase your profits and system performance. The case study below will illustrate an example of how our organization can help provide cost effective solutions for you.
Application One of Niantic's customers, located in New England, was contracted by a division of Westinghouse to build 34 cabinets that met nuclear facilities standards for corrosion and EMI performance. Part of that construction included mounting a gasket on a competitor's plated surface sub-straight. The cost for plating the cabinet door and frame was in excess of $400.00 for each cabinet.
Problem: The end user needed cost reductions and performance enhancements for their overseas customers. Our customer had cut it's expenses as much as they could without losing money on the job. The plating also caused extensive work for masking and gasket installation. Westinghouse would not budge on the costs, so our customer asked us for some advice.
Solution: Niantic educated their customer on the use of CHO-MASK® HT for an option to plating the complete cabinet door and door frame. By applying CHO-MASK® to an area around the door and on the frame they were able to reduce their cost for gasket preparation to $143.00 from the original $400.00 for plating.
Result: Niantic Seal, Inc. solidified its position as a problem solving partner that can help a customer cut costs, without sacrificing quality, and won the bid. As a result of finding a successful solution, Niantic's customer, with the approval of Westinghouse, placed a $15,000.00 order for CHO-MASK® and POLASHEET® Gasketing to make the next 34 cabinets. The design engineer and buyer also promised to introduce Niantic Seal to other divisions of the corporation.
